Recording a manual online sale (phone / WhatsApp orders)

When a customer orders over the phone, WhatsApp or Messenger, you can record it as an online order by hand — no need to wait for a website checkout. It behaves exactly like a normal online sale: it books to your online-store profit, moves stock, and supports cash-on-delivery.

How to record one

  1. Open Online Store → Orders and choose New order (or send a create-order request to POST /store/orders).
  2. Pick the customer — an existing client, or type a name and phone and one is created for you.
  3. Add each product and quantity. The price defaults to the product's price; you can override any line.
  4. Enter the delivery charge and the payment method (Cash on delivery is the default).
  5. Save. If you tick Fulfil now, the sale is raised immediately and stock is set aside from the branch you choose; otherwise the order stays pending until you confirm it from the Orders screen.

What happens next

Once fulfilled, the order flows through the normal online pipeline: mark it shipped, then delivered. For a cash-on-delivery order, the cash the courier collects is recorded automatically when you mark it delivered, and the amount owed already includes the delivery charge.

Tip: if an item breaks on the way to the customer, use the delivery-breakage step so the customer is billed only for what arrived — see Partial delivery: an item breaks in transit.
